Meet Monica M. Rojas Restrepo. Rojas Restrepo is one of the many AIESEC interns that joins Electrolux every year.
Monica Rojas Restrepo joined Electrolux to intern as a Research & Development Laboratory Engineer. Among other responsibilities, she helps to test product and component performance, participates in evaluating handling and ergonomics, performs analyses of test results and prepares test reports within product categories.
Why were you interested in interning with Electrolux?
All my life I have had a passion for products, and Electrolux is a well known company in Colombia with an excellent reputation.

For me, having the opportunity to complete an internship through AIESEC, in such an impressive and important company, gives me the experience I will need as a Product Designer to learn how things work in real life in the product development process.
At Electrolux, even if you are only contributing in a small way to a process or team, it still allows you see the development of products from the beginning until you actually see them in the consumer’s hands. Everyone contributes in some way to the final goal of developing products for happy customers.
What are you looking forward to most in your internship?
I’m looking forward to learning a lot about testing products (user tests, performance tests for example), which is ultimately related to the improvement and development of better products.
What have you been working on lately?
Right now I’m working on small domestic appliance testing and helping my team with handling and performance tests for several upcoming products.
