Sustainability and products

From a life cycle analysis, we know that our greatest potential to positively impact the environment is to improve efficiency of products during use.

We know there is a market for products with high levels of energy efficiency and low environmental impact. More than that, our consumers want appliances that are safe, do not contain hazardous materials, have low noise levels and are produced under good working conditions. We aim to meet, and exceed, these expectations.

Labels and standards for appliances can help inform consumers about the importance of energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions. Well-designed standards transform markets by empowering consumers to make informed purchases and to manage their energy bills. This is why Electrolux advocates the use of energy labeling.

Electrolux measures energy efficiency improvements of our entire product range in Europe. The indicator has pointed to consistent reductions in energy consumption levels since 2000.

In order to help consumers buy our most energy-efficient, climate-smart and water-wise appliances, every business sector is raising the profile of their top performing appliances.

Induction models reduce energy consumption by 20% compared to other electric cooktops and are 70% more efficient than gas.

Ultrasilencer Green

The Electrolux Ultrasilencer Green meets the demand for energy efficiency and more sustainable material use. Without compromising quality, performance or noise, it presents 33% energy efficiency and is made with 55% recycled plastics—which reduces energy consumption during manufacturing by 90%. The use phase represents about 75% of the product’s environmental impact. In its lifecycle, cutting energy used to operate the vacuum presents our greatest opportunity to save CO2.
